Does Al-Qur'an say that Earth is Flat ?

"The earth is flat", that was assumed by most of people in the past, including in the Arabian peninsula at the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Even though the idea  of "the earth is a round" has been pioneered by Phytaghoras (6th century BC) and Aristotle (384-322 BC) and began to be spead out in a few parts of the earth, most of people of that time believed that "the earth is flat". This belief of the shape of the earth itself, whether the earth was flat or round, were still based on sensory observation and logical arguments, without any scientific evidence, so its belief of "th earth is round" was less popular than what have been trusted by most of people since ancient time. Some take the arguments about the form of the earth in based on revelation, especially the early Christian churches and the Jewish people at the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In other words, although the concept of "the earth is round" had already existed at the time, but most people still believe that "the earth is flat".

The Qur'an was revealed at a time when almost the majority of the population of the Arabian peninsula assumed that "the earth is flat", and probably thought that "the earth is round" at the time was something that was not acceptable, especially the science of astronomy was not popular among the Arabs. At the present time, therefore, that "the earth is round" is almost indisputable. Real modern-scientific evidence, either through observation of the earth even through direct observations in space have been presented to us, so the belief that "the earth is flat" is difficult to maintain. But keep in mind that the Qur'an is not revealed at present time, but at the time when people still believed that "the earth is flat". In some places in the Qur'an, were said that the earth was spread out or was wide expanse (in Arabic it is said to "faraash", "wasia", "mahd", "basaat", "suttihat", "tahaaha","dahaaha ")

Hearing of the words "Qur'an", "bees", and "spiders", what crossed the mind of every Muslim is two surah in the Qur'an, An-Nahl (bees) and Al-Ankabut (spider). But before discussing about the bees and spiders, firstly we will discuss about the number six.

In the previous post entitled "Nineteen - The Authenticity Detector of the Qur'an", when discuss about the seventh checksum, it is stated that :
There are 29 surah in the Qur'an which have initials or fawatih in the first verse, such as: alif, lam, mim, ra, shad, nun. Out of those 29 surah, the 15th surah in this list is the surah Al-Ankabut which is the 29th surah of the Qur'an. This surah divide the list of initials-have surah into 2 parts, 14 chapters before this surah and 14 surah after this surah.

The Qur'an and Theorem of Nineteen

A theorem in mathematics of the number 19, said:
 Assume you have a pair of two-digit numbers, x and y, where x consists of digits a and b, y consists of digits c and d, such that a, b, c and d are nonzero. If x + y = ab + cd = 100, then a + b + c + d = 19
In the previous posts have described about the Nineteen - The Authenticity Detector of the Qur'an , as mentioned in Surah Al-Muddatstsir verse 30:
[74:30] Over it are nineteen

Bring Forth A Chapter like Qur'an's Surah? - Why Should We Affraid?

Dare to accept Allah's challenge?
Allah has annouced His eternal challenge to all the people who feel like able to comply the challenge. Allah clearly challenges the whole of mankind and jinn, as describe in His words:
[2:23] And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.

[10:38] Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!"

Nineteen - The Authenticity Detector of the Qur'an

In our daily life, a signature or fingerprint is used as an identifier authenticity of a person. With signed a document, or by providing a fingerprint stamp to a document, it can be ascertained whether or not the document is original or genuine.

In computer science, there is terms called checksum or CRC . Sometimes we have to zip or rar a file or folder in our computer. When we open a file zip or rar , sometimes we get the error " CRC checksum error ". That means the file that we zip or rar is corrupted, such as changes of the contents of the file, so that the file is considered to be not genuine anymore and finally could not be opened.
