This is a fair question considering there are many of Qur'an's verses mention that the
sun, moon, and star are "running", but seem none of verses in the Qur'an which clearly state the earth is moving, running or floating. So, does the Qur'an
state that our solar system was geocentric, which the earth is the center and the sun, moon and other celestial bodies are running around the earth?
While the science is indicating that the earth moves around the sun and the sun itself is move along with our galaxy. Which should we believe further, revelation or science?<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Moreover the Quran was revealed at a time when the majority of the world
consider that the earth was still, and motionless, and the sun and
moon orbit around up and down the earth, because that are seen
and felt by the people on earth. Statement that the earth
moves around the sun, at the time of the revelation of the Qur'an, of
course, would cause Islam not accepted by the people, and even would bring out a lot of criticism from
some of people of the Book.</div>

"The earth
moves? Do you feel the earth move? That's a stupid idea. Clearly we see the sun
rising in the east, moving up and setting in the west, after that the moon
appears as the sun does", perhaps that was a response from the people in the past about heliocentric idea or ideas that the earth, moon, stars, and even the sun
moves in its own orbit and that the earth moves around the sun.</div>

A Muslim believes and does not deny that the Qur'an is the revelation of Allah the Most Perfect, that therefore, it is unquestionable truth. On
the other hand, every Muslim does believe that Allah revealed the Qur'an
with His knowledge, explaining and justifying the signs of God in nature. Thus, for Muslims, there are only two possibilities, the Qur'an justifies even precedes science, or science is wrong.</div>

Now let's see, does the Qur'an really state that the earth is the center of the solar system? Here are verses in the Qur'an that mention about the circulation of the sun and the moon:</div>

<b>[36:37] <span id="verse_3742_language_6_content">And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.</span></b><b> </b><br />
<b>[36:38] <span id="verse_3743_language_6_content">And the sun runs [on
course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of
the Exalted in Might, the Knowing</span></b><b>. </b><br />
<b>[36:39] <span id="verse_3744_language_6_content">And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.</span></b><br />
<b>[36:40] <span id="verse_3745_language_6_content">It is not allowable for
the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the
day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.</span></b></blockquote>

From verses 37-40 of Surah Yaasiin above, it can be concluded:</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Allah uses the phrase "remove from it (from the night) day",
indicating that the universe is dominated by the night (dark),
and the day it is something that is "attached" to the darkness (night)
itself. Like as a frame strips out from the walls, meand that the walls is the dominant where the frame previously affixed to the wall.</li>
<li>The sun revolves (walk) around its own orbit, circling the center of the galaxy, towards its "resting place". "Limustaqarrin Laha" literally means "to somewhere appointed to it" can also means "to be stable / fixed", "to its resting place" or "to its stopping point". The word "orbit" itself in Arabic is "falak". This
verse wants to tell us that the sun is revolves "until the appointed time,
when it has reached its resting place or in a stable condition / not
moving anymore."</li>
<li>Determination of the phases of the moon, can only be
done when the earth is also rotating around itself and also revolves around the sun, and the moon also revolves around the earth,
which will be presented later in this post, Insya Allah.</li>
<li>Orbit (falakin) is different between the sun and the moon
(respectively).</li>
<li>The orbits of the sun and the moon is not associated with the
change of day and night, so that God revealed the two things as the
assertion "<span id="verse_3745_language_6_content">It is not allowable for
the sun to reach the moon</span>" because each celestial bodies has
different orbit, the sun revolves around the galaxy, the moon revolves around the earth,
and the second statement "<span id="verse_3745_language_6_content"> nor does the night overtake the
day</span>", because the earth is round and rotates/spins . The sun and moon may be parallel, but still "<span id="verse_3745_language_6_content">It is not allowable for
the sun to reach the moon</span>".</li>
</ol>

When mentions about the circulation of the sun and the moon, Allah always
include night and day, with the possible explanation (wallahu a'lam):</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li><span class="">So that the circulation of the sun and moon can be differ with the change of night and day, because the sun does not revolve around the earth, but otherwise the earth revolves around the sun, so
the inclusion of day and night in those verses as the assertion that "the circluation of the
sun and the moon" and "change of night and day" are two different
things.</span></li>
<li>The use of the phrase "night and day" (laila wan nahaar),
where the word "night" is always mentioned first than the "day",
indicating that the night was created first before the day, as the sun was
created first than the moon, according to the Qur'an , because
the word "sun" has always mentioned precede the word "moon".</li>
<li>Besides what mentioned in the point 2, the use of the phrase "night and day" instead of
"day and night", has purposes so that it cannot be related with the phrase "the sun and the moon" if someone look those two phrase with its word order, and it makes clearer that "the circulation of the sun and the moon" is different with "change of night and day", because "the sun" is always mentioned precede "the moon", but "the night" (which associated with darkness or the moon) is always mentioned precede the day (which associated with light/shine or sun. </li>
<li>Other verses that mention the circulation of "the sun and
the moon", we can always see that they also mentioned "night and day", so that people understands that"the
circulation of the sun and the moon" and "change of night and day" can be
distinguished as two different things. Those verses are QS 14:33, 21:33, 31:29,
35:13, and 39:5.</li>

Now lets look at another verse:</div>

<b>[13:2] <span id="verse_1709_language_6_content">It is Allah who erected the
heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established
Himself above the Throne and made subject the sun and the
moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He
arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of
the meeting with your Lord, be certain.</span></b></blockquote>

"each running" is a translation of "wa kullun yajri". See the use of the word "kullun" here, which means "all" (plural indefinite / uncountable). Notice how the Qur'an does not use the word "kilaahuma" (both of/dual form) but using the indefinitite form "kullun". Al-Qur'an
want to say, rather than just sun and moon are revolves and circulating, but also
everything in the universe, the heavens, it's also circulating. Sun,
earth, moon, planets and stars all circulate. The word "kullun" is used in all
the verse that states curculation of the sun and moon as in surah Yaasiin
(36) verse 40 above, followed by plural or indefinite noun/adjective/adverb, not in the dual form, like the word "musamman" which
means "determined" is also an indefinite form.</div>

<u><b>Earth's rotation and revolution in the Qur'an</b></u></div>

For the statements about the Qur'an about whether the earth rotates and revolves,
or in other words moving, let us see surah Luqman verse 29, where Allah
says:</div>

<b>[31:29] <span id="verse_3498_language_6_content">Do you not see that Allah
causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to
enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each
running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allah , with
whatever you do, is Acquainted?</span></b></blockquote>

Notice the words "to enter (yuuliju)" the night into the day and the day into the night, signifies that the earth rotates. Part
of the earth where is experiencing the day, is entered to the area that oppose the sun so that part of the earth is the experience of the night and vice versa. That is why the Qur'an uses the word "to enter (yuuliju)" to describe the change of day and night.</div>

In surah an-Naml verse 88 Allah says:</div>

thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of
clouds. [It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things.
Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.</span></b></blockquote>

One of the miracle of the Qur'an is the Qur'an, since 15 centuries ago, has declared that the mountains is moving instead of still and rigid . The mountains are generated by the plates of the earth, where the plates always keep moving. This is something that just discovered and proven centuries after the revelation of the Qur'an. The other miracle is the statement "as the passing of clouds".</div>

Cloud, at a certain height from the surface of the earth, always moving
from west to east, because as the earth's rotation is also from west to
east. So this verse also explains that the earth indeed moves and the direction of movement (rotation) is that "as the passing of clouds".</div>

Now let's look at surah Al-Furqaan verse 45 as following:</div>

your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He
could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it
an indication.</span></b><br />
<b>[25:46] <span id="verse_2901_language_6_content">Then We withdraw it unto Us with gradual withdrawal.</span></b></blockquote>

Note the phrase "We made the sun for it an indication". Something that is used as a guide / indication is something fixed, relative to the object. If
someone says "You go there, and the indication that you have already arrive to that place is you see a large guava tree beside a big red house" here "guava tree
beside a big red house" is an indication or a guide, something that is relatively stand still to the moving person. Or if someone says "The car speed of 100 km / h" means refers to something that is relatively stand still to the car.</div>

See how Allah does the selection of words, so that the statement could be receive at the time of revelation but can be accepted also in the present time, and of course, does not conflict with
science, as indeed all knowledge comes from Allah.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
"<span id="verse_2900_language_6_content"> and if He willed, He
could have made it stationary</span> ... <span id="verse_2901_language_6_content">Then We withdraw it unto Us with gradual withdrawal.</span>". The position of the Earth in orbit around the sun following an elliptical orbit with oblique position, not perpendicular, to the sun. This
verse also indicates that earth revolves the sun with non-perpendicular nor fix position, so there are times when the shadow
at the same hour be shorter or longer, depending on the season going. If Allah wills, Allah makes shadow at the same hour also has same length, but Allah wills it won't that way.</div>

In the Surah An-Naba '(78) verse 6, God says:</div>

Above is Yusuf Ali translation, where "a wide expanse" here is a translation of "mihaadan". Te word "mihaadan" literally means "resting place" (as translate in sahih international translation) or "swing / cradle" (in the indefinite
form), from the root word "al-mahd". Some translator translate it as "wide expance" most likely take root from "madaad" used in another verse which has mean "expanse". The
use of the word mihaadan as "resting place" can be seen in other verses
in the Quran in Sura 7:41 that is, 13:18, 38:56, 3:197. 3:12, and 2:206.</div>

The use of "mihaadan" in the sense of swing /
cradle, which used similar words in verse 29 of Surah Maryam:</div>

Here the Qur'an used in the singular form of mihaadan mean that in a swing or cradle. baby cradle or crib for the baby or infant is usually made swing to the left and
right, so that the child felt comfortable and fell asleep. Thus
the Qur'an describes the earth as if it is in the cradle / crib, so
that the surah An-Naba 'verse 78 can be translated "Did we not made the
earth like a cradle / crib?"</div>

The science proves that the Earth rotation around its axis while revolving the sun
is not perpendicular but oblique and irregular, sometimes moving away
from the sometimes close to its perpendicular axis to its orbit. The fact that only recently known, have already been mentioned in the Qur'an 15 centuries ago.<br />

Even in the next verse Allah states in the Qur'an:</div>

<b>[78:7] And the mountains as pegs?</b></blockquote>

Here, Allah states that the mountains made in the earth such as pegs and also functioned like pegs. Of course a question arises, what is the purpose Allah made the mountains as pegs? Concerning to this, Allah describes in another verse:</div>

<b>[16:15] <span id="verse_1916_language_6_content">And He has cast into the
earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you ...</span></b><br />

without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth
firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you ...</b></span></blockquote>

So one of the functions used as the mountains on earth are as a
balancer, stabilizing the Earth's rotation, which together with the
earth's gravity, resulting in a swift or shake due to the rotation of the earth
is not perceived by humans, so people on earth still feel that the earth
was "flat" and "stand still", not shaking the people who lived on its
surface. So the ordinance of Allah, the Lord of all universes.<br />

Another thing what the Qur'an says is the revolution of the moon, as Allah has said in surah Yaasiin verse 36 above :</div>

" 'urjuuni al-qadiimi" in above verse has meaning of "old date stalk", means "stalks that has already had date fruit on them".</div>

Al-Qur'an statements about the "kal 'urjuuni al qadiimi" has to be underlined, because the orbit of the moon, both in geocentric and/or
heliocentric paradigm, is in the form a circle or ellipse, but in this verse is explained that for the moon, had been determined the set of phases (dead moon, new
moon, half moon, full moon) and keep repeating, like the old date stalk, and also explains that the earth indeed rotates and revolves around the sun, because those phase of moon only occur if the earth is moving.</div>

As has mentioned in the article "<a href="http://imamadi83en.blogspot.com/2012/05/does-al-quran-say-that-earth-is-flat.html">Does Al-Qur'an Say that the Earth is Flat ?</a>", that the existance of wests and easts (in plural) indicate that the earth is round-shape. But also explained in that article that "masyaariq" and "maghaarib" also literally mean "sun rising places" and "sun setting places", so this verse also try to explained that the earth in its rotation (which causes the sun
rises and sets, as observed from the earth) is not perpendicular but oblique or tilted from its the perpendicular axis.<br />
<br />
Science
proves that the earth rotates in 23.5 degree angle from the
perpendicular axis, sometimes the northern part of the earth toward the
sun, and sometimes the southern part does (along with
the change of seasons). This makes the
point of sunrise and sunset are always different for people who are in
the north and south equatorial, especially in different
seasons, even though relatively same for the people in the equatorial region. And this also makes not only places but also time of sun rising and setting is different every places every day, all express by the Qur'an by the term <i>masyaariq</i> and <i>maghaarib</i>, which is in their plural form. These<i> Masyaariq </i>and <i>maghaaribi</i> only occur when the earth is spherical, rotates and revolves around the sun, and spesifically in oblique angle to its perpendicular axis.</div>

Thus, the Qur'an uses the language style and paravle that can be
accepted by the people of in the past when the Qur'an was revealed time, but in line with science and provable in centuries after the Qur'an was revealed.</div>

<u><b>Does surah Asy-Syams verse 1 and 2 state about geo-centric?</b></u></div>

"Wait, what about Asy-Syams verses 1-2?", Some people might ask it. "Is
not it obvious that the moon is said to follow the sun? Means sun in
circulation, followed by the moon, which means that support and
express the geocentric?"</div>

Answering this question, let's look at surah Asy-Syams verses 1-2:</div>

<b>[91:1] <span id="verse_6044_language_6_content">By the sun and its brightness,</span></b><br />
<b>[91:2] <span id="verse_6045_language_6_content">And [by] the moon when it follows it,</span></b></blockquote>

From those two verses can be explained:</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Once again, please state that there is no statement in these verse which mention explicitly that
the sun nor the moon revolves the earth (although the moon indeed revolves the earth). As the verse is revealed 15 centuries
ago, the second verse of this seems reasonable, because that is
actually what people see when observe from the earth. Moon appears after the sun set in the evening. But it is an understanding based on eye observation, which can be received and understandable the 15th century ago.</li>
<li>The word "follow" is a translation of "talaha" from word "tala" which means "to follow", or "rely on". This "tala" has the root word "talaw" (ta lam waw) which means "read and dictate (recite)", in where the words with the root word "talaw" are used no less than 60
times in the Qur'an.</li>
<li>The moon is something that "follow" the sun. Whereas
if we look in another verse, explained that the moon and the
sun has different orbit, furthermore the moon's orbit is shaped like an old date stalk, where
the moon with the earth around the sun. This verse in fact
contain scientific truth, which is evidenced by the current science that
says that the moon tends to "follow" the sun because of the sun's gravity,

<li>In the present time, it has known that the moon is actually do "talaha", that is "read" the sun light and "recite" the light to Earth. Light
owned the moon is the reflection of sunlight. That is also
why the Qur'an says that the sun "shines (dhiyaan)" and the moon
"luminous/derived the light (Nuur)", because "shine" means to have its own light source,
while the "luminous" dependent on other objects that have a light. </li>

Related to point 4 above, moreover explained in surah Nuh (71) verse 16:<br />

<b>[71:16] And made the moon therein a [reflected] light (<i>nuuran</i>) and made the sun a burning lamp (<i>sirajan</i>)?</b> </blockquote>
So, in this verse "the moon" is mentioned first before "the sun" does not mean that moon is created before the sun, because that is not the point. This verse is not focused to the creation of the moon, but it is said that for the moon, Allah has given to it a light, but this light is coming from another source, and then explain that the "another source" is the sun that Allah made it as a lamp so that the moon can get the light from "the lamp" and reflects it. Based on Arabic-English Lane's Lexicon, <i>sirajan</i> literally means "lamp". So, this verse basicly confirm for point 4 above that the moon is actually do "talaha".<br />

For closing of this article : <i style="color: blue;">Not only state that the earth revolves
around the earth, the Qur'an also state that the sun also revolves in
its own orbit, around the center of galaxy, as other celestial bodies
does in their own orbit. This is also means that the galaxy also floats in its own orbit</i>, wallahu a'lam.</div>

"Tazula" or "zalata" has the origin of the word "Zala" which means "to
deviate from the state of motion" or "stop of the state of motion",
indicating that the heavens (sun, planets, moon, stars, and other celestial bodies) and earth, are
moving in its orbit as determined by Allah.</div>

If there are verses in the Quran that says the sun rises from the
east (like in the story of Abraham when he encounter unbelievers, surah 2:258), or
where the sun rising place and the sun setting place (in the story Zulkarnain, QS 18 :
86), the Qur'an describes that it was felt by the people who become the
object of the narrative (in this case, the prophet Ibrahim and
Zulkarnain), and even that what is felt by all people on earth : "the sun rises from
the east and sets in west ", but the Qur'an does not claim that the sun around the
earth. Are we not taught in school, "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west" ? The
term "sunrise" or "sunset" we also use in everyday life, even though we
know (and have been taught) that in fact that is caused by the earth's rotation.</div>

"The earth is flat", that was assumed by most of people in the past, including in the Arabian peninsula at the time of the Prophet
Muhammad SAW. Even though the idea of "the earth is a round" has been pioneered by Phytaghoras (6th century BC) and Aristotle
(384-322 BC) and began to be spead out in a few parts of the earth, most of people of that time believed that "the earth is flat". This belief of the
shape of the earth itself, whether the earth was flat or round, were
still based on sensory observation and logical arguments, without any scientific evidence, so its belief of "th earth is round" was less popular than what have been trusted by most of people since ancient time. Some
take the arguments about the form of the earth in based on revelation, especially the early Christian churches and the Jewish
people at the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In other
words, although the concept of "the earth is round" had already existed at
the time, but most people still believe that "the earth is flat".<br />
<br />
The Qur'an was revealed at a time when almost the majority of the
population of the Arabian peninsula assumed that "the earth is flat", and
probably thought that "the earth is round" at the time was something that was not acceptable, especially the science of astronomy was not popular
among the Arabs. At the present time, therefore, that "the earth is round" is almost indisputable. Real
modern-scientific evidence, either through observation of the earth even through direct
observations in space have been presented to us, so the belief that "the
earth is flat" is difficult to maintain. But keep in mind
that the Qur'an is not revealed at present time, but at the time when
people still believed that "the earth is flat". In some places in the Qur'an, were said that the earth was spread
out or was wide expanse (in Arabic it is said to "faraash", "wasia", "mahd",
"basaat", "suttihat", "tahaaha","dahaaha ")

The words spread out and wide-expanse, can be pointed out something flat. So, Allah through the Qur'an states that the Earth is actually flat, as mentioned at the beginning of creation. Or does He?<br />
<br />
First of all we should see, the flat, or straight in the Arabic language is the "<i>sawi</i>" or "<i>almustafi</i>". There is no single word in the Qur'an that use those words to describe the earth. Something
flat also has corners or edges or side or end, in which these terms are never used in the Qur'an when describes the earth.
So, see that even though the Qur'an were revealed in the time when people believe that "the earth is flat", <i>there is no single word or verse that explicitly said that the earth is flat</i>.<br />

Now We see in surah Ar-Rahman verse 33 that says:<br />

<b>[55:33] O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions (<i>aqthar</i>) of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].<span id="verse_4934_language_9_content"></span> </b></blockquote>

</b>Note: the word "bi sulthaan" at the end of this verse is often translated as "authority". The meaning of "sulthaan" itself is authority, expertise, or strength.<br />
<br />
See that the Qur'an uses the word "aqthar" which translates as <i>region</i>. The word "aqthar" itself implies as diameters, which is presented in the plural. Singular form of "aqthar" is "quthr" and its dual form is "qutharin".<br />
<br />
A three-dimensional form which has a lot of diameters are ellipsoid or something close to resemble that. Ellipsoid is a form that resembles a round ball which is a litlle bit flattened like an egg. <br />
<br />
So, 1400 years ago, the Qur'an has stated that the universe (in this case
the heaven) and earth shaped were ellipsoid, flattened ball, while most of the world
population at the time thought that "the earth is flat", and the heaven/sky was what visible from earth with the naked eye. <br />
<br />
The meaning "aqthar" as the "diameters" on that time when Qur'an revelaed is not recognized. So the people at that time usually understand that "aqthar" with a word closest to it, <i>aqtashara </i>which means directions or regions. But there are many words in the Qur'an that are unusual or unknown (strange) in the day when it revealed, so at that time people take the nearest or more common understanding for those words. Especially at that time, the statement "the earth is round" is an unacceptable idea. As
words of Allah, the Qur'an states that the earth is ellipsoid implicitly,
which will be proved centuries later, along with the progress of human's science
and technology.<br />
<br />
The
usage and selection of the word itself is one of the miracle of the Qur'an. "Aqthar"
as the diameter is probably not known in past day, but Allah the All-Knowing knows that many centuries later, the word "aqthar" will
be used as a "diameter", long before people realize that the Qur'an
mentions it, which proved its compliance with science. Similarly,
the word "kawkaban" in use in several other verses in the Qur'an, which
at the time of the revelation of the Qur'an is only known as the
"star", the latter after the enactment of the term planet, then
"kawkaban" has the meaning as "planet". <br />
<br />
In other surah, Az-Zumar verse 5, Allah says:

<b><i></i><span id="verse_4063_language_9_content">[39:5] He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over </span></b><b><span id="verse_4063_language_9_content">(wraps / <i>yukawwiru</i> ) </span></b><b><span id="verse_4063_language_9_content">the day and wraps the day over the night ...</span></b></blockquote>

"Wrap" or "overlap" (yukawwiru) in the above verse means contains definition of "coat something to a round object', usually used
in the term" to wrap a turban on a man's head ". So once again implicitly God wants to tell people that the earth was not flat as most of people of that time assumed. <br />
Another question arises: why Allah did not directly state that the earth is round? Why He has to tell about it implicitly? While many other verses tell that the earth was spread out, wide expanse?<br />
<br />
As explained above, the Qur'an was revealed on the days where most people thought that "the earth is flat". To state that "the earth is round" explicitly would make Islam was not be accepted at that
time, many people would accuse the prophet was a mad-person. Furthermore, the statement "whether earth or universe is flat or a sphere/ellipsoid" was not a problem associated with <i>aqidah</i>/monotheism, <i>akhlaq</i>/moral
improvement which were the primary mission of Islam in those days, therefore the
verses that declare earth is round is revealed by Allah implicitly,
because as "the last testament", the Qur'an should be in line with the signs of
Allah all over the place in the universe. the truth will be proved by science and technology, for people who eager to think, <i>wallahu a'lam</i>. On the other hand, there is no single verse in the Quran explicitly states that the earth is flat or still.<br />
<br />
Another question to arise, what is the meaning when the Qur'an states that the earth is spread out or stretched out or wide expanse? Does it also means that the Qur'an says that the earth is flat implicitly?<br />
<br />
The statement "the earth is spread out / stretched out / wide expanse" and "the earth is flat" are two different things. Now let's go take look at history, for hundreds and even thousands of years humans believed that the earth was flat. Why? The answer: because the earth has been flatten by Allah so that every of His creatures that can live on earth. Because at that time, no man even feel that the earth is round. Not even cross in mind of that time human that a creature can leave in a spherical body without be slipped out. Allah has given the earth a suitable gravity to support living creatures in
it, in where every creature on the earth is not going to feel the earth is round or spherical and be slipped out. Yes, using <i>gravity</i> , Allah has flatten the spherical earth.<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<b>[79:27] Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.<br />[79:28] He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.<br />[79:30] And after that He spread the earth.<br />[79:31] He extracted from it its water and its pasture,<br />[79:32] And the mountains He set firmly<br />[79:33] As provision for you and your grazing livestock.</b></blockquote>
In the surah An-Naazi'aat above, "the spreading of the earth" was happened after Allah made night and day on earth. Means
before "the spreading", the earth had already been exist, but the earth is still round
without any gravity, thus still can not be inhabited by living creatures. Only after the earth "spread out" by Allah, so that water, sea, plants began to appear on the earth, and so are humans. We all feel that the earth is "flat" despite the fact that the earth is round.<br />
<br />
According
to contemporary Egyptian scientist, Zaghlul an-Najjar, stated that at
the beginning of the creation of heaven and earth, the earth rotated on its axis with very high rotation speed so that a year had more that 2200 day in length and only less than 4 hours on a night. At that time, the earth had not been "spread out". Living beings can not live on the surface. After that, Allah began the process of "spread out" the earth. <br />
<br />
What is interesting from the surah An-Naazi'at verse 30 is the word "dahaha" which has brought a lot of debate. "Dahaha"
here is translated as "spread out ", which only appears once in this
verse, of the many verses in the Qur'an that says "spread / stretched".<br />

<b>[79:30] </b><span id="verse_5742_language_6_content">And after that He spread </span><b>(<i>dahaha</i>)</b>
<span id="verse_5742_language_6_content"> the earth.</span><b> <i></i> </b></blockquote>
"Dahaha" is one of uncommon word in the Qur'an, comes from the verb "Daha" which is derived from the verb "Dahu" which can mean stretched, push, throw, move. Ibn Barri said "Daha al-ard" means "pushing the earth to move". An-Naazi'at verse 30 here can be interpreted "And after that Allah move (pushed to turn) the earth until it became flat". "Dahaha" can be from origin word "dahraj" which means moving or rotating roll. Nowadays, the earth movement (rotation and revolution) is known as the cause of
gravity and also causes the shape of the earth becomes longer in the
equatorial (flat round), something that has been revealed by Allah through
Al-Qur'an 15 centuries ago, <i>wallahu a'lam</i> .<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[77:25] Have We not made the earth a container</b><br />
<b>[77:26] Of the living and the dead?</b></blockquote>
"Kifaatan" in surah Al-Mursaalat verse 25 above is translate as "container" and in other translation translate it as "get
together", derived from the word "kafata" which means "to gather into
one place". This verse indicates an attractive force on the
earth which effects every living or dead thing to re-assemble on earth
(read: gravity). Because Allah has made the earth as a "container" or a "gathering
place", so that people feel that the earth if flat, when in fact the
earth is relatively spherical and Allah spread it out in a way of "Daha" it. <br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<b><span id="verse_5415_language_6_content">[70:40] So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings </span><b>( <i>masyaariq</i> ) </b><span id="verse_5415_language_6_content"> and settings </span><b>( <i>maghaaribi</i> )</b><span id="verse_5415_language_6_content"> that indeed We are able</span></b></blockquote>
In Arabic, masyaariq literally means rising places or easts and maghaaribi means setting places or wests (that's why Shalat or prayer when sunset time is called <i>shalat magharib</i> or <i>magharib prayer</i>). Al-Ma'aarij (70) paragraph 40 above states explicitly that the earth
exists at many easts (masyaariq, plurals) and wests (maghaaribi,
plural), something not possible if the earth was flat. Many
easts and wests is possible if the earth is round or ellipsoid,
so that for every point on earth, has different west and east due to the sun movement (sunrise and sunset) observed by people on earth which as reference of west and east determines is varies when seen in different places if the earth is indeed a spherical, and it has to be observed same if the earth is indeed flat.<br />
<br />
One of the used of<i> Masyaariq</i> and <i>Maghaarib</i> in the term of "sun rising place" and "sun setting place", is in Ar-Rahmaan verse 17 below :

Surah
Ar-Rahmaan verse 17 above states that Allah made the earth has two place of sunrise (<i>masyariqayn</i>) and two place of sunset (<i>magharibayn</i>). This verse is symbolically explained to us that the earth is not only has round shape, but also rotates. If people in a place observe that the sun has been set, at the some time, people in another place in the opposite of the earth observe that the sun has been risen, therefor based on observation from the earth, there are two place or two point of sun rise, and two place or two point of sun set, which indicate that the earth is round and rotates. <br />

<b id="rendah"><u>Lowest Place on Earth</u></b><br />

This post will be closed by discussing the surah Ar-Rum verse 1-3:<br />

<b>[30:1-3] Alif Lam Meem. The Byzantines (Ruum/Rome) have been defeated. In the nearest (<i>adnal</i>) land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome.</b></blockquote>
This verse that revealed about the year 620 AD tells about the defeat of the Romans,
in this case the Byzantine, against the Persians, with its climax when city of Jerusallem was captured, the true cross was taken from the hands of the
Christian people of Jerusallem, and massacre of about 57000-65000 people in Jerusallem
57000-65000 after the Byzantine is defeated by Persian army led
Khosrou around the Dead Sea ( <i>Dead Sea basin</i> ), which lies between Palestine and Jordan today. And the Qur'an revealed that even though Byzantine is defeated at the time, they would rise and win over Persian (which happened years after this verse is revealed).<br />
<br />
Note the word "adnal" in the paragraph above is translated as "nearest". The
word "adnal" itself means "low", but the phrase "low place/region" at the time when this verse is reveal can not be understood so that most of people at the time interpret it as "nearest".<br />
<br />
In fact, the area around the Dead Sea ( <i><i>Dead Sea</i></i><i> basin</i> ), which is also known as sea of salt, is the lowest land on Earth's surface, which is 394 meters (1291 feet) below sea level.<br />
<br />
New
facts known by man through images taken from satellites has been
revealed by Allah to man through His perfect holy book revealed 15 centuries ago.<br />

Hearing of the words "Qur'an", "bees", and "spiders", what crossed the
mind of every Muslim is two surah in the Qur'an, An-Nahl (bees) and
Al-Ankabut (spider). But before discussing about the bees and spiders, firstly we will discuss about the number six. <br />

Surah Al-Ankabut is chosen by God as the "mediator" for all initials-have surah, for that surely Allah does not design it in vain, because as mentioned
in His words:<br />
<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[72:28] ... <span id="verse_5475_language_6_content"></span><span id="verse_5475_language_9_content">and (He) takes account of every single thing</span></b></blockquote>
Al-Ankabut or "spider" is the 29th surah of the Qur'an. In this surah, Allah mentions the word "spider" twice, both present only in one verse, which is in verse 41. So, from here this post will be focusing on the surah Al-Ankabut, which has the translation of verse 41 as follow :<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[29:41] The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; <i>but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house; if they but knew.</i><span class="fbUnderline"><i></i></span></b></blockquote>
Some of mathematical facts about the surah Al-Ankabut (29) verse 41 are as follows:<br />
<ul>
<li>29 is a prime number which is also a twin prime (29,31). Just for information, twin primes are pairs of primes that differed by two, such as (3, 5) or (5, 7) or (11, 13).</li>
<li>41 is also a prime number, and also a twin prime (41,43).</li>
<li>2969 (combination of surah number : 29 and total verses of Al-Ankabut : 69) is also a twin prime (2969,2971).</li>
<li>Here, the middle numbers of these pairs of twin prime (29.31), (41.43), (2969.2971) are 30, 42, and 2970</li>
<li>Both 30 and 42 are divisible by <b><span style="color: red;">6</span> .</b></li>
<li><b><span style="color: red;">6</span></b> x 5 = 30 and <b><span style="color: red;">6</span></b> x 7 = 42, where the 5 and 7 is prime and also twin prime (5,7) which has middle number of <b><span style="color: red;">6</span> .</b></li>
<li>2970 also divisible by 6. Please note that 2970 = <b><span style="color: red;">6</span></b> x 495, where 4+9+5 (in which will be formed 459) is 18, which is the middle number of the twin prime (17, <b><span style="color: red;">19</span></b> ) and can be divided by 6 ( <b><span style="color: red;">6</span></b> x 3 = 18).</li>

<span class="fbUnderline"><i><b><u>So, What's up with number 6?</u></b></i></span><br />
<br />
Here 19 as the <i>parity check</i> or <i>checksum</i> takes part for answering this question. <br />
The nineteen, geometrically, can be assumed as 19 balls. If we arrange these 19 balls on the floor or a flat shape, then the most stable form is a six-shape parallelogram or hexagonal.<br />

By definition, a hexagonal can coincide with each other without any gap
in the flat (3 hexagon meet at each vertex / vertex), so it is very
useful for construction. The cells of
the beehive is shaped in hexagonal, and it is for this reason, stability and because this shape
is very efficient in the use of space and building materials.<br />
<br />
So we see how Allah teaches mankind how to design a structure of buildings efficiently, firmly and earthquake resistant, as bees make their nest
that consists of a collection of integrated hexagons. That is also why a beehive remains strong and stable despite obtaining strong shocks around it.<br />
<br />
Regarding the beehive, Allah mentioned it in surah an-Nahl verse 68:<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[16:68]<span id="verse_1969_language_9_content">And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;</span></b></blockquote>
Let's see, number 1668 (combination of surah number 16 & verse 68) is the middle number of the twin prime pairs (1667, 1669) and also a multiple of <b><span style="color: red;">6</span> </b> ( <span style="color: red;">6</span> x 278 = 1668), where 2+7+8 (the digits of 278) is 17, and it is a twin prime (17, <b><span style="color: red;">19</span></b> ) with the middle 18 numbers that can be shared <b><span style="color: red;">6</span> .</b> Many stuctures and objects in the world follow the hexagonal pattern naturally.<br />
<br />
So the verse 41 of surah al-Ankabut implicitly convey that, when build or make
construction structure, do not follow a spider's web, because by following
the pattern of spider's web structure, the result is not quite strong. However, follow the beehive's hexagon pattern, to obtain a stable and efficient structure.<br />
<br />
Furthermore, back to discussion about the number 6, number 6 is the first perfect number. Perfect number is a number that is half the sum of all of its positive divisors (including itself). In the case of number 6, its positive divisor are 3, 2 and 1. If these three numbers are added together will result 3+2+1 = 6. The second perfect number is 28, its positive divisor are 14,7,4,2,1 where 14+7+4+2+1 is also 28.<br />

<span class="fbUnderline" id="laba"><b><u>Al-Qur'an and the Spider</u></b></span><br />
<br />
Now let's see again the surah Al-Ankabut paragraph 41 , which is said:<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[29:41] The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; <i>but truly the weakest/</i></b><b><i>the flimsiest</i></b><b><i> of houses is the spider's house; if they but knew.</i></b></blockquote>
One of the characteristics of the spider 's web is that have high toughness, so that this spider's web is a benchmark or reference in the
manufacture of polymer fibers at this time. <i>Toughness</i>
here is a material and metallurgical term that defined the ability of a
material to absorb energy and deform plastically and elastically without
cracking. <span class="">However, Al-Quran says in surah Al-Ankabut verse 41 above that the weakest house is spider's house. </span><br />
<span class="">Some facts about spiders that can be conclude from surah Al-Ankabut verse 41 are as follows:</span><br />
<ul>
<li>The use of the word "al-Ankabut" is a form of single. The plural is "al-ankabutat", "al-anakib" or "al-anakiib". This is not like bees (an-nahl) and ants (an-naml) which in the Quran are mentioned
in the plural form, indicating the bees and ants are social creatures. Science proves that most spiders are not social creatures. They tend to attack and devour each other when living in groups. This condition is applied even in groups, not in large colonies, but also in small groups. In the breeding season, female spiders prey on males in their nest after fertilization. That's why the spider silk industry is not popular. Unlike caterpillars that can be placed one place, the spider should be separated from one another so that not prey each other.</li>
<li>The Quran explains that for the spider, the one responsible to build a house is a female spider. The use of the word "al-Ankabut" generally refers to the female spider. Male form of "al-Ankabut" was "al-ankab". Science proves that mostly the cobwebs is constructed by female spider, especially to reproduce and keep its eggs. Male spider usually use their webs for capturing prey.</li>
<li><span class="">It says in the Qur'an that the weakest is the house, not its constructed material. </span>This verse does not mention about the spider web. What is mentioned here is the spider's house, which is a result of construction and
architecture, not the material for the construction itself. Someone
might be able to make a house made from steel or another best quality material, but if the construction and architecture is weak,
then the house will not be able to protect the occupants of the house. <span class="">Similarly for spider, its house maybe functioned as a trap for prey, but is not able to provide tranquility for itself. </span>Unable to protect it from heat, rain and maybe even its enemies. Some spiders are forced to live on the edge of the nest, even in places other than the nest for sheltering. A house who is unable to provide security for the residents is said as a weak house. And
the weakest house, the most easily destroyed house is a house built by a
spider, despite the fact that the web itself that make up the house is said
to be one of the highest-toughness ingredients.</li>
<li>"Awhana buyuti" in the paragraph above, in addition to meaning "the weakest house" also means "the flimsiest house". "Awhana" can mean both fragile/weak and thin/flimsy. <span class="">The
fact that the house spider is made of very thin material, regardless
also one the highest-toughness material, as described by science today, making the
spider's house spider as one of the thinnest house on earth. </span></li>
</ul>
So there is no conflict between the Qur'an with science. This is because
science as well as the Qur'an comes from Allah, the Lord and the Creator of all things.<br />
<br />
<span class="fbUnderline"><b><span class="fbUnderline" id="lebah"><b><u>Al-Qur'an and the Bees</u></b></span></b></span><br />
<br />
After discussing the spider, now we turn to the surah An-Nahl verses 68-69 which says:<br />
<blockquote>
<b>[16:68-69] And thy Lord taught the Bee to <i>build </i>its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;Then to <i>eat</i> of all </b><b>(arabic:kulli)</b><b> the produce/fruits (of the earth) </b><b>(arabic:tsamarati)</b><b>, and <i>find</i> with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.</b></blockquote>
<ul>
<li>The use of the word "Nahl" to mention the bees in the
Quran, using the plural form, in which the Qur'an indicates that bees
are social creatures that live in groups.</li>
<li>The words in italics and underlined in the verse above, are feminin form in its original arabic text, which is showed that
the jobs mentioned above are done by female bees (to bulid, to eat/gathering food, to find). Science
nowadays indicates that the job for making hive, taking care of the hive, find
food are carried by the sterile female bees or a worker bee. Male bees stay in the hive and served to fertilize the Queen bee.</li>
<li>Honey has variety of colors, depending on the source from which the honey is taken by the worker bees. Concerning the part of the verse about "eat of any/all fruit," the word "kulli" (in arabic) can mean "every" or "all". Not that all kinds of fruit are ordered to the bees to eat. <span class="">In surah al-Naml (27) verse 23, there is mentioned of the queen of Saba '"... and she was awarded everything (<i>kulli syayin</i>)". </span>Here "<i>kulli syayin</i>" does not mean that everything on earth, but it means all that the queen of Saba needs. Similarly, "kulli" in surah An-Nahl verse 69 above, it means that all the fruit/produce required by the bees. "Tsamarat" which is translate as produce or fruits in this verse, is different to fruits such as apples, bananas, oranges, and others. For
fruits such as this, which is eaten by humans, the Qur'an uses the term
"<i>fawkiha</i>" as used in Qur'an surah 23:19, 36:57, 55:11, 55:68, 52:22, 56:20,
56:32, 55:52, 77:42, 80:31, and others. In this context, "<i>tsamarat</i>" instead of "fruit", more likely means what is produced from the flowers. This includes also the nectar and <i>pollen,</i> nectar and pollen as it is also a "fruit" of the flower (something produced by the flowers). Below is a photo of bees that eat grapes</li>

A theorem in mathematics of the number 19, said:<br />

d, such that a, b, c and d are nonzero. If x + y = ab + cd = 100, then a + b + c + d = 19</i></b></blockquote>

and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no
other than a warning to mankind.</b><b> </b></blockquote>
Back to the theorem mentioned above, the proof can be described as follows: <br />

<i>ab + cd = 100, where ab is a number with two digits and
the cd is a number with two digits, then (a x 10) + b + (c x 10) + d =
100. (a x10) + (c x 10) is a multiple of 10 (because each is
multiplied by 10) and a, b, c, d can not be zero, then b + d must also
be a multiple of 10 because 100 is a multiple of 10. Because b and d is the number one digit between 1 and 9, and b + d is a multiple of ten, then b + d = 10. This leads to (a x 10) + (c x 10) = (a + c) x 10 must be equal to 90 or a + c = 9. Because b + d = 10 and a + c = 9, so that a + b + c + d = 19, Q.E.D.</i></blockquote>

There are a total of <span class="fbUnderline">72 pairs of number </span>that meet the above theorem.
Moving on from these 72 pairs of number, let's open surah 72 in the Qu'ran. <span class="fbUnderline">The total verses of this surah is 28</span> , where (72,28) is one of 72 pairs of number that meet the theorem, in which 72 + 28 is 100. Now if we add each of its constituent digits: 7 + 2 + 2 + 8, we will obtain the results of 19, according to the above theorem. <br />
<br />
Al-Qur'an surah 72 verse 28 reads:<br />

<b>[72:28] "That He may know that they have (truly) brought and delivered the Messages of their Lord: and He surrounds (all the mysteries) that are with them, and takes account of every single thing."<span class="fbUnderline"><i></i></span></b></blockquote>
Yes, Allah takes count of every single thing when revealed His words, He did it by counting things one by one, no even single little thing is missed.<br />
<br />
From the sum of 72 + 28 that obtained the number 100, let's see surah 100 in surah of the Qu'ran, in which composed of 11 verses. The
composition of 100 and 11 which consists of two digits 0 and 1 reminds
us of the binary number, that if 100 (surah number) and 11 (total verses of the surah) are combined into a binary 10011, will form 19 in decimal which if used in its decimal.<br />

<br />
<u><span class="fbUnderline" id="inisial"><b>Initials and Twin Primes</b></span></u><br />
<br />
Now let's take a look all surah in the Qur'an one by one. In the
Qu'ran there are several surah with the initials / <i>fawatih</i>, such as alif laam
miiim, alif lam mim sha'ad, sha'ad, nun, alif lam ra. Surah
Al-Baqarah (surah 2) is the first initials-have surah (alif lam mim), and
Al-Qalam (surah 68) is the last initials-have surah (nun).
An interesting fact that the number of occurrences of the letter alif + lam + mim in surah Al-Baqarah is 9899 which is a multiple of 19 (19
x 521).
fact that 19 is prime, brings us to the twin prime pairs ( <i>twin prime</i> ). Twin primes are pairs of primes that differed by two, such as (3, 5) or (5, 7) or (11, 13).<br />

Allah has annouced His eternal challenge to all the people who feel like able to comply the challenge. Allah clearly </span>challenges the whole of mankind and jinn, as describe in His words: <br />

<b>[2:23] And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.<br /><br />[10:38] Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!"</b><br />

This challenge applies to all people, either man or jinn and free to call for help, and there is no time limit.<br />

If in the surah Al-Baqarah (2) verse 23, the challenge is to make a
surah like the Qur'an, then the challenge is "facilitates" again by
Allah in Surah Ath-Thuur (52) verse 34 by saying that the challenge is also applied for just making
a "sentence" such as Qur'an.
In the previous post said that the number "nineteen" has its own speciality in the Qur'an as key of detector, as Allah says that over it are nineteen.<br />

and further described in the next verse what is Allah's intention to make the "19" over it :<br />

doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth:
and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no

The passage in the Qur'an that meet the criteria "over it are nineteen" is "Bismillah arrahman arrahiim" or sometimes be called "basmalah". Firstly, basmallah consists of nineteen letters/alphabets (in form of Arabic alphabet). Secondly, basmallah always located in the "over" of all the surah, with the exception of the ninth surah, At-Tawbah.
So for anyone who wants to make a sentence such as Al-Qur'an, then the
best candidate proposed as a benchmark is basmallah or "Bismillah
arrahman arrahiim ", because this basmallah is "over it are nineteen". All of <span class="fbUnderline">criteria that are owned
by basmallah, must be also owned by a man-made sentences that want to
meet Allah's challenge. Those criteria are as follows:</span><br />

<li><i><span class="">To make a sentence such as Al-Qur'an, first of all create a sentence in any language </span><span class="fbUnderline"><span class="">that consists of a minimum of 4 words</span></span><span class=""> and count how many letter/alphabet that the sentence has in particular language. </span><span class="">We suppose there are </span><b><span class="">n</span></b><span class=""> letters</span></i><span class=""> . </span>The sentence should have meaning rather than random sentences that are not meaningful. For
sentence in the Qur'an, we take basmallah "Bismi Allah arrahman arrahiim"
(4 words) because Basmallah this is "over" of every surah in the
Quran. Basmallah is composed of 19 letters (thus, n = 19).</li>

<li>Determine gematrical value of the letter in the language you use in your sentences. For example, for the Latin alphabet, A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, ... <span class="">In
the past, especially those in the middle east region, such as Hebrews,
Syrians, Greeks, and Arabs, use the gematrical value to calculate the
value of a word, or use it for other calculations, by giving specific
values to particular letters in their alphabet system. </span><span class="">Below
is a table of gematrical value of Arabic alphabe. </span>Since the Qur'an uses the Arabic language, we use the gematrical value of Arabic letter as follows:</li>

Just to give an illustration, the probability of a sentence or a phrase that meets 4 criteria out of the 17 criteria of a multiple of <i><b>n</b></i> above is one in 189753 x 189753 x 189753 = 6832284660060777. The possibility for creating a sentence like Basmallah that meets all 17 criteria for a multiple <i><b>of n</b></i> above is impossible, although the jinn and men are joined together.<br />

Closing this discussion, here are some additional facts about "Basmallah":<br />
<ol>
<li>Basmallah is the first verse in the Qur'an (which is the first verse of surah Al-Fatihah or "The Opening") consists of 19
letters, and the number of letters per each word in the corresponding order is
3,4,6,6. Combine all of these numbers: <b>1193466 = </b><b>19 x 19 x 19 x 174.</b></li>
<li>Total of occurrence of Basmallah in the Qur'an is 114 times = <b>19</b> x 6. One Basmallah if the first verse of surah Al-Fatihah and 112 other Basmallah are in the beginning of all surah but not included in the verse numbering or sometimes said as verse 0, with the exception of surah 9 (not opened with
bismillah) and 1 Basmallah in the middle of the surah 27 (verse 30).</li>
<li>Surah is not precede with Basmallah is the At-Tawbah (surah 9) and surah containing Basmallah in the middle of it is An-Naml
(surah 27). Calculated starting from Surah At-Tawbah (9) to An-Naml (27), it's all <b>19</b> surah in total.</li>
<li>Basmallah in surah An-Naml (surah 27) can be found in verse 30, where <b>27 + 30 = 57 = 19 x 3.</b></li>
<li>The only verse that meet the criteria "over it are nineteen" as described above is Basmallah (Bismillahirrahmanirrahim). signed a document, or by providing a fingerprint stamp to a document,
it can be ascertained whether or not the document is original or genuine.<br />
<br />
In computer science, there is terms called <i>checksum</i> or <i>CRC</i> . Sometimes we<span class=""> have to </span><i><span class="">zip</span></i><span class=""> or <i>rar</i> </span><span class="">a file or folder in our computer. </span>When we open a file <i>zip</i> or
<i>rar</i> , sometimes we get the error " <i>CRC checksum error</i> ". That means the file that we <i>zip</i> or <i>rar</i>
is corrupted, such as changes of the contents of the file, so that the
file is considered to be not genuine anymore and finally could not be
opened.<br />

In the photography, there is the so-called </span><i><span class="">
watermark</span></i><span class=""> , such as providing a "signature" of the photos we take, so it can be authenticated that it is indeed our shots. </span><span class="">Allah, in the Qur'an, also gives authenticity detection ( </span><i><span class="">checksum</span></i><span class=""> ). </span>Even Allah specifically gives the key of the <i>checksum</i> to mankind in surah Al-Muddatstsir verse 30:<br />

[<b>74:30] </b><b>Over it are nineteen</b></blockquote>
<span class="fbUnderline"><u>Note</u> :</span>
most translations provide an additional "(guardian angels)" for the translation of this verse. Note that the translation of the Qur'an, which is in the brackets are translator's notes. <span class="">Allah does not use "in brackets" mark for any verses in the Qur'an. </span><br />
<br />
Over it are <span class="">"Nineteen", Allah says, indicate that the 19 is very special number, that will discuss in this post. </span>In the next verse Allah explains the purpose of the existing of numbers "Nineteen" in the Qur'an:<b> </b><br />

<b>[74:31] ... and We have fixed their numbers :<br />- only as a trial for Unbelievers,<br />- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty<br />- and the Believers may increase in Faith,<br />- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers,<br />- and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, <br />"What symbol doth Allah intend by this?"<br />Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.</b></blockquote>
Let's look at a few of this " in determining the authenticity of the Qur'an. In another post will be discussed also much further on the role of these 19 number. <span class="fbUnderline"> </span><br />
<br />
<span class="fbUnderline">Please keep in mind</span>
that the Qur'an was revealed gradually, little by little, in 22 years 2
months 22 days, and not in order (the five first verses revealed were the first 5 verses of surah 96). The arrangement
of the surahs and verses all revealed by God to the prophet
Muhammad SAW, forms a very perfect book, that will be discussed in
this post and subsequent post<i><b>s.</b></i><br />
<br />
<b><u><span class="fbUnderline"><i>First Checksum</i></span><span class="fbUnderline"> </span></u></b><br />
<br />
Let us take a look at the structure of the Qur'an:<br />
<ol>
<li>Number of surah in the Qur'an are 114 (6 x 19). </li>
<li>The number of 114 is somewhat unique, because the 114th primes number 619, and 114 is (6 x 19).</li>
<li>There are 6346 verses in the Qur'an (including bismillah
in the beginning chapters / the 0th verse) (19 x 334) (6 + 3 + 4 + 6 =
19).</li>
<li>We also know that the contents of the Qur'an is divided into 30 chapters. The number of
30 is the 19th composite number (natural number greater than 1 and not a prime
number) : 4, 6, 8, 9,10,12,14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 27, 22 ,
24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30.</li>
<li>There are 114 bismillah in the Qur'an. A Bismillah is the first verse of surah Al-Fatihah and 112 other bismillah are opening of the surah but not include in verses numbering or sometimes
said to be the 0st verse, with the exception of surah 9 (not opened with
bismillah) and a bismillah in middle of the surah 27 verse
30. (114 = 19 x 6).</li>
<li><i>Bismillahirrahmanirrahim</i> consists of 19 letters (in Arabic).</li>
<li>The only chapters that do not begin with Bismillah is in surah 9, and the only chapters in which bismillah appears two times is surah 27. Counting the surah number from surah 9 to surah 27 (including all 9 chapters and chapters
to 27), there are 19 surah.</li>
<li>The first five verses revealed in the Qur'an (surah 96 ayah 1-5) consists of 19 words.</li>
<li><span class="">There are 30 kind of number mentioned in the Qur'an: 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 99, 100,
200, 300, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 50000, and 100000, which when all 30
numbers that add up to 162 146 (19 x 8534)</span></li>
</ol>
Specific to the point 9 above, we can see how the Qur'an keep the number 19 consistently so that when Qur'an mentioned about the age of the prophet Noah AS, the Qur'an
uses the phrase "... a thousand years less fifty years ..." [29:14], instead of ".. nine hundred and fifty years ...".<br />
<br />
<br />
<b><u><span class="fbUnderline"><i>Second Checksum</i></span></u> </b><br />
<br />
The Qur'an is structured in the form of 6 x (10 + 9) or 60 + 54, in which there are 60 surah that have total of the verses is even, and 54 surah that have total of the verses is odd.
An example is Al-Fatihah (1) has 7 verses that makes Al-fatihah as surah with the odd total verses.
But Al-Baqarah (2) has 286 verses that makes this surah as surah with the even total verses.
Prof. Jalghoom Abdullah of Jordan finds some mathematical relation with above conditions, as follow:<br />
<ol>
<li>All of 60 surah with even total verses if the number of the surah is summed up, will come out with result of 3450 or 345 x 10.</li>
<li>All of 54 surah with odd total verses if the number of the surah is summed up, will come out with result of 3150 or 345 x 9.</li>
<li>The total of all the number of surah is 655 or 345 x 19 (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 +7 + .... +114 = 6555) </li>
</ol>
Thus, the number of the surah and the total of the verses cannot be exchanged each other, which if be exchanged then the structure above does not apply. For instance, surah Al-Fatihah and surah Al-Baqarah exchanged their place each other,
then the sum of even total verses becomes 3449 and the sum of odd total verses becomes 3151.<br />
<br />
<u><span class="fbUnderline"><b><i>Third Checksum</i></b></span></u><br />
<br />
<br />
The Qur'an with its 114 surah can be divided in two groups categorized by its structure:<br />
<ol>
<li>57 (19 x 3) surah are homogeneous, where the type of the number of surah is same as its total verses which is even-even
or odd-odd. As example is Al-Fatihah or "the Opening", its surah's number is 1 which is odd. Its total verses also odd, which has 7 verses in total. Another example is Al-Baqarah or" Female Cow ". Its surah's number is 2 which is even, and its total verses is 286 which is also even. <span class="fbUnderline">All of these homogeneous surah, the sum of the number of the surah add up with the sum of the total verses of each surah of this kind, has result of 6236, or equal to the total verses in the
Qur'an entirely.</span></li>
<li>57 (19 x 3) surah are heterogeneous, where the type of the number of surah is different with its total verses which is even-odd
or odd-even. As example is Ali'Imran or Family of Imran, has surah's number is 3 or odd, but it has 200 verses which is even. The sum of these heterogeneous surah's number add with total verses of each surah of this kind, has result of <span class="fbUnderline"> 6555, or equal to the sum of the number of surah from 1 to 114 (1 +2 +3 +4 + .... +114).</span></li>
</ol>
When these two groups of surah are added together, will generate a prime
numbers: 6236 + 6555 = 12791 which is the 1525th prime number.<br />

The coosen of 114 as total of surah has very interesting purpose, because it can be divided or partitioned into 3 major symmetrical groups, which are of course related to the number 19, as shown in the table below:<br />

which the sum of the number of surah and its particular total verses of that surah, has prime number as the result.</span><br />

<u><span class="fbUnderline"><b><i>Seventh Checksum</i></b></span></u><br />
<br />
The Qur'an can also be divided into two groups of surah:<br />
<ol>
<li>29 surah that have the initials ( <i>fawatih</i> ) at the first verse of the surah. Initials is a mysterious combination of the arabic alphabet, such as the nun, shad, alif lam mim. There are 14 arabic alphabets in total as initials. Those alphabet combinations is a prefix in all Makiah surah (surah that revealed in Mekkah/Mecca) , with the exception of two surah. Just for note that 29 is a 10th prime number.</li>
<li>The remaining 85 surah (5 x 17, which are both prime)
has no initials at the first verse of the surah, where the number of 5 x 17
associated with the order of shalat/prayer, five times a day amounted to 17
raka'ahs. </li>
</ol>
From the 29 surah that have initials, can be further categorized as follows:<br />
<ul>
<li>19 surah where the combination of alphabet (initials) is a whole one verse. An example is Al-Baqarah, surah number 2. The remaining 10 surah, the initials is a part of a sentence in that verse, not as a whole one verse.</li>
<li>19 chapters where the number of the surah is not prime number. For example, surah Thaha, surah number 20. The remaining 10 chapters, numbered with prime numbers: 2, 3, 7, 11, 13.19, 29, 31, 41, and 43. Just pay attention that surah number 19 are placed in the 6th from the sequence of primes in
those remaining 10 surah, which is when multiplied by (6 x 19 = 114), as much
as the number of surah in the Qur'an. Their total of the number of those remaining 10 surah is : 2 + 3 + 7 + 11 + 13 + 19 + 29 + 31 + 41 + 43 = 198, where 198 is the middle number of twin primes (197,199). Twin primes are pairs of primes that differed by two.</li>
<li> Surah 19, Maryam (Mary), is the 10th of this 29 initials-have surah.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Surah al-Ankabut or "Spiders", located in the middle position, in which surah's number is 29.</li>
<li>Before al-Ankabut, there are 14 initals-have surah and so after that, there are 14 initials-have surah. This initials-have surah start from surah 2 (Al-Baqarah) until surah 68 (Al-Qalam). This formation is perfectly symmetric.</li>
</ul>
<br />
Those surah are arranged in very unique way, symmetrical to each other, with the surah 29 is placed in the middle of those 29 kind of surah. Another conclusions that can be obtained from the table above are:<br />
<ul>
<li>Among those initials-have surah, surah number 2
to number 68, there are 38 surah which do not have initials, or equal
to (2 x 19).</li>
<li>Five surah before the middle of the table above (no 15/surah number 29) is the surah 19 and five chapters after the middle of the table above (no 15/surah number 29) is the surah 38, or (2 x 19).</li>
<li><span class="">From surah 19 (Maryam/Mary) until the end of the Qur'an, there are 19 initials-have surah.</span></li>
<li> Before surah Shad, which has surah's number 38 (19 x 2), there are 19 initial-have surah.</li>
